Nick Jonas’ Contest For People With Type 1 Diabetes

by Greg Martin on 05/11/2010

Simple Wins, according to Bayer, are small, everyday victories one  achieves in life with diabetes that add up to big wins over time. One of Nick Jonas’ Simple Wins is being able to give back to the community and inspire others to do the same. That’s why Bayer Diabetes Care (a.k.a. Bayer Health Care LLC) and Nick Jonas are recognizing the good works of other people with diabetes who are making a special difference in their communities – like volunteering to organizing a JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes Team or registering for the Ride to Cure Diabetes.

A new contest from Bayer Diabetes Care called “Give Back. Simply Win” will focus on people living with diabetes and making a difference in their local communities. Winners will get to meet teen singing icon Nick Jonas and have a $5,000 donation made in their name to a not-for-profit charitable cause of their choice.

To enter the contest, go to Nicks Simple Wins. The contest is open to everyone living with diabetes, six years of age and older. You will be asked to enter some personal information and to answer three questions relating to the contest:

1. “Which local cause/charity/organization/movement are you passionate about and why?”

2. “How are you currently making a difference for your cause?”

3. “If your entry was selected and you won the Grand Prize (see Rule 6), how would you want the      $5,000 to be spent by the cause/charity/organization/movement and why?”

Three winners will be selected – one from each of the following age brackets 6-12, 13-17 and 18+.  Nine finalists, three from each age group, will be chosen and win exclusive Nick Jonas memorabilia. Of the finalists, three grand prize winners, one from each age category, will be selected. The three grand prize winners will get to meet Nick in person and a $5,000 donation will be awarded to the eligible charity of their choice. See the Official Contest Rules for details. Applications will be accepted through Aug. 5, 2010. The winners will be notified on or about Sept. 1.

Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers band, 17, part , was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes four years ago.
