JDRF Names Frank Ingrassia Chairman of the International Board of Directors

The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International is pleased to announce that Frank Ingrassia has been named Chairman of the Board. Mr. Ingrassia is President and Chief Executive Officer of Clever Devices, Ltd.; he is the former Chairman of the Public Finance Group at Goldman Sachs & Co.

Mr. Ingrassia has been involved with JDRF for years on both the local and international levels. He has served on the International Board of Directors for the past four years, and is currently the Chairman of the Board’s Research Committee; he has served in a variety of board positions, including Vice Chairman, Treasurer, and Chairman of the Finance and Investment committees.

Mr. Ingrassia will replace Leo F. Mullin as Chairman of JDRF. Mr. Mullin, a Senior Advisor to Goldman Sachs Capital Partners and former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Delta Air Lines, will complete his two-year term as JDRF Chairman at the end of the organization’s fiscal year in June.

“It is a privilege to work with JDRF’s dedicated donors, volunteers and staff around the world,” said Mr. Ingrassia. “Since my initial involvement with JDRF, I have been constantly amazed and humbled by the energy, commitment and passion of people to achieve our ultimate goal – a cure for diabetes. JDRF has made significant research advances since its founding that have helped to improve people’s lives, and will continue the progress in translating research to ultimately cure this devastating disease.”

As President and CEO of New York-based Clever Devices, Ltd., Mr. Ingrassia leads a company that provides sustainable and innovating technology that is used by major transit agencies across the country. His career at Goldman Sachs & Co.’s Public Finance Group spanned 25 years. Before Goldman Sachs, he was vice president and manager in the Municipal Revenue Bond Rating Group at Standard & Poor’s.

Mr. Ingrassia philanthropic and community activities include serving on the boards of Friends Academy in Locust Valley, NY, a current member of the Board of Directors and chairman of the Finance Committee for his alma mater, Lehigh University and St. Dominic’s Roman Catholic Church in Oyster Bay, NY.
